Our open boat shark trip saw another small Mako released along with a 100lb blue shark. Two more run offs failed to hook up. Beautiful water out there and the Thunderstorms kept things interesting.

Kyle Alteri reports:
The morning trip failed to produce any stripers for the Tim Bethea group but they had lots of sea bass and some ling to make up for it. The stripers were on in the afternoon as the Jon Harding family boated 8 bass up to 34lbs. Many, many others were lost or missed.

6/24/09
Kyle Alteri reports:
We had our first Mako of the year today unfortunately it was only 50lbs and was quickly released. 3 blue sharks all well over a 100lbs with the largest around 200 were also fought to the boat. A couple more bites and a run-off or two and that was it. We have openings July 1st and the 15th on these open boat shark trips. Call 609-668-5877 to get in on the action.

Had the Pat Del Vicario party out for a day of fluking. Mostly shorts and sea bass but we had some nice keepers including a 6lb fish for Carolyn Del Vicario and a 7lber for Bernie. Our afternoon trip saw good action with spectacular surface explosions from the bass on the bunker pods. Craig Schneiderwind and friends boated 9 bass to 37lbs.

Kyle Alteri reports:
We had our first open boat shark trip today and the Blue Sharks were out in force. Over 25 were brought boat side and released. Water was 61-62.5 degrees and very clean but just a little too cool for Makos. We expect to see them on our next open boat trip next Wednesday. There are still spots available for that trip and others. Call 609-668-5877 for info.

Very good bottom fishing for the Al Williams charter today. If it swam we caught it. 92 keeper sea bass, if the limit was still 12" we would have easily had over 150 fish. Also 10 fat ling, a 23" cod, 2 small pollock and 8 blackfish released, a 31" striper, a bluefish and some "S fish"- Spiny dogs, skates and a sea robin plus the ever present cunners.

Out best trip so far this year for quality sized fish. The big bass were on the bunkers and the John Diantonio party loaded up with most fish in the 25-32lb range. Eddie Nescio had the big fish at 48" and 41lbs. The smallest fish at 33" looked like a short when it came to the boat. Limits for everyone today.
