Bait or Lure: Sand worms and Clam

The boat had 30 fishermen and 1 person that came along to talk (loud) for 4 hours (urgh!). It was a slow pick for us and other boats around the Sea Tiger. I bagged the first fish and it was the pool fish until the last minute of the trip. As slack came, my fishing partner Rob, pops a nice floundie and just beats me out of the pool. High hook was 6 for a gent near the bow of the boat. Another nice day on the Tiger and a good job by Capt. Hal and crew.

Location: Barnegat Light, NJ
Fishing Method: wrecks
Specie: Ling (AKA Red Hake)
Size: Up to 28"
Bait or Lure: Clams
Water Depth: 165'
Water Temp.: Unknown
Information : We headed east for 55 miles. Due to calm seas we were able to get out, and anchor quickly. Our lines were dropped in two hours. Noticed no winds on the way out or while fishing, the sun was even out for a while. I caught all Ling on the first drop, on the second drop I picked up more Ling, 2 cunners, and 2 spiny dogfish. Incidentals on both drops included; cunners, an ocean pout, spiny dogfish, yellow-bellied hackleheads, and 10-12 throwback pollock. High hook was approx. 30-32 Ling. I took home 20 Ling, and 2 chunky cunners. I'd guess there were about 25 people on the boat. Everyone regardless of race, got along well together, sharing our love for the sea, fishing, and even bird watching. On our way back to port it started to drizzle, the winds picked up, and it was raining hard at the dock. I had a great day, that even driving home-hours in the pouring rain, couldn't ruin.

At the begining of low moved back into the mouth of the river, and with almost slack water they started hitting, picked up a 1/2 a dozen.
