Boat Name: Norma K III
Date Fished: 01/13/01
Location:
Fishing Method: Bottom and jigging
Specie: Ling (AKA Red Hake)
Size:
Bait or Lure: clams
Water Depth: 200+ ft.
Water Temp.: Upper 30's
Information : The weather for Saturday's trip was unbelievable. It was like a pond out there. I had my
best day yet with 7 ling and more mackeral than I could count. There were plenty of other ling and
macks caught but only 1 blackfish. Unfortunalely, the cold weather in December is probably responsible
for them turning off this early. As always, the Captain and crew made the day an enjayable one for
everybody.
Angler Name : Ron Long & J.C. Henderson
E-Mail : josephlong@att.com
Boat Name: Jamaica
Date Fished: 01/13/01
Location: Off-shore Wrecks
Fishing Method: Bottom
Specie: Black Sea Bass
Size: up to 5lbs
Bait or Lure: Clam
Water Depth: 250
Water Temp.: 50
Information : My friend J.C. came up from Virginia to do the off-shore wreck thing for the first time.
The weather was beautiful, calm seas and unseasonably warm. The boat was packed though and there was a
wicked current!! We managed to piece together a decent catch compared to most, but still a bit
disappointing for this time of year. We ended up with 25 seabass, 9 big Porgys and one ling. People
were trying to use 12 and 14 oz. sinkers and screwing everyone else up!! We were using 20 and still
drifting a bit!!! Please, if you go take the right lead with you!!

Information : This was my second trip out on the Norma K III and although the fishing was a little slow,
I still had a great time. Overall, I saw a couple more tog caught, with quite a few ling and 3 or 4
cod. Water currents were down dramitically from my New Years Day trip but the wind was blowing pretty
good. Captain John and his crew did an outstanding job and I'm looking foward to another trip this
coming weekend.
