fleat stayed together and action was a pick all morning. Ed (our mate) estimated that the boat had
about 50 - 60 fish by the end of a nasty morning. I had 6 and just got edged out of the pool. My
friends Rob and Slick were to my right and left and got scunked. The guy to their right had 8 and the

great day today. Once again a nice job done by Capt. Hal and Mate Ed.

Boat Name: Capt. Robbins
Date Fished: 4/7/01
Location: slopwreck
Fishing Method: bottom
Specie: Tautog
Size: 12" +
Bait or Lure: Clam
Water Depth: 90-100
Water Temp.: 43.7
Information : First day our for Captain Robbins. 55 othe crazy people had the fever. Rough day! Seas
were atleast 6-8 feet with a strong NE wind of 20+ knots. Took us 2hours and fifteen minutes to get to
the first spot in about 90 feet. Of the 55 people, maybee half were fishin by days end and a good dozen
or so never even wet line. I had a great day and ended up with a hard earned limmit to 5lbs - no slobs
for me. All on clams - the snooter the better. Also had 4 throwbacks. Think I had high hook. I still
don't understand why people would come out in early April not dressed properly, with no idea how to
catch blackfish, and with no stomach for a strong NE breeze. Oh well, lots of rail space and laughs for
me. As always. Capt. Mike did an excellent job (Despite horible conditions) and My good mate Jeff was
on top of it as usual! For those of you who are considering black fishing - they do not bite like
seabass and are very tricky to catch - let um eat it! Can't wait for my next trip with Capt.
Robbins!
